Reseller :: Website Hosting

G-Net Online have now launched a brand new hosting reseller platform.  It is designed to bridge the gap between traditional hosting packages and our dedicated servers.  It allows web developers and smaller hosting companies to offer their customers a highly reliable, configurable and feature packed hosting solution - without hassle!

We already provide reseller hosting accounts for a number of clients, from web designers wanting to provide a one stop shop for their customers, internet entrepreneurs offering various internet related services under their own brand, companies and individuals who either have multiple brands and require a number of websites or just need the flexibility of one of our reseller accounts.  Flexibility and ease of use is key to the product we offer and if there is something you need to help make your business work, we will endeavour to provide it for you.

 So what is a reseller account?

 Our hosting reseller accounts allow our resellers to provide everything they need to be their own ISP or hosting provider.  You will get access to a reseller control panel that automates the tasks of registering domain names (at reduced rates), setting up 0845 and unmetered dial-up accounts and business class ADSL and SDSL broadband services for yourself and your customers.  It provides links to their hosting reseller account that hosts all of the reseller’s accounts/websites.

 What about branding?

 Your customers are your customers and although we are essentially providing the service, the reseller would be seen as providing the entire package. 

 ...and support?

 We will provide the reseller with support for any problems they have with the service.  It is the responsibility of the reseller to support their customers (you are their service provider after all).

 Where are your reseller servers located and why do you have limits applied to your accounts when other reseller providers say we can have unlimited......?

 Our servers are located in a high specification London docklands data centre. The connectivity is provided by our own BGP4 resiliant netowrk. We only purchase high quality, high availability and well connected bandwidth which costs money. This ensures your servers have high availability as well as great connectivity from all over the UK and the rest of the world.  We want your customers’ sites to be accessible as reliably and quickly as possible, so we don’t promise ‘unlimited’ when this is just not realistic. We will no move the gate posts if you have a site that consumes more than 'average' bandwidth, as long as you remain wihin your overall quota. If you do have one or a number of popular sites, we may suggest you increase your package or charge for additional transfer - at competitive prices.

 How will I have to pay for this service?

 Resellers are billed each month in advance for their reseller account and for any domain registrations and unmetered accounts they have purchased in the month before.   It is up to you how you wish to pay, either by a continuous credit card authority where we will automatically bill you each month and supply an invoice or where we simply supply you with an invoice to be paid by cheque or directly into our bank account.

If you choose to offer ADSL broadband to your own clients, then the billing for this is handled on the day the order is placed and monthly thereafter for each account.

 You offer various reseller packages – why complicate things rather than just provide it all?

 The different packages are designed to fit the needs of most customers.  You should find that one package is more suitable for you than another.  If you choose a package and then later decide you want to change – that’s fine.  You can also have some aspects of your account increased so that the package you have is exactly right for your needs!

 So, what features do these accounts have for me to offer my clients (all features are optional and selectable for each individual site)?

 Multiple users – Each site can have multiple users allocated and set-up to be able to use private FTP, POP3, IMAP.

 Domain aliasing – Allow more than one domain name or hostname to point to a single site (as well as be handled automatically for other services like e-mail).

 Bandwidth monitoring – Each site can have a different bandwidth setting allowing various amounts of data transfer for each site.  You will then be able to set-up packages to suit your customers needs – and adapt with them.

 Cgi-bin – All sites can have an optional cgi-bin enabled.   This is set-up with security so that all scripts run as the site user and can not compromise server security for any other users site.

 Server side includes – Allow tags with html pages to include SSI requests.

 Web logs – Raw logs for each site can be made available to the site owner for separate analysis or via basic stats in the control panel.

 FrontPage 2002 server extensions – Allow your customers to develop their website using Microsoft FrontPage and publish it directly to the server.

 E-Commerce – You can install any php or cgi based ecommerce solution. Alternatively, we can suggest packages fro you. SSL is available (at a cost for the fixed IP and for the server certificate).

 Back-Up/Restore – Site owners can now be in charge of their own back-ups directly from the control panel.

 File manager – Site owners can view and modify files directly from their control panel for ease and speed.

 SMTP Server – The authenticated SMTP service allows users to send outgoing e-mails through the reseller account.  This is great for customers that use multiple ISPs or who require a reliable SMTP service.

 MajorDomo mailing list manager – The mailing list server allows site owners to create mailing lists with various options – including private lists where a single message can be distributed to a number of users, group messaging where members can e-mail all other members.  The system also allows for automated subscription and removal as well as a customised footer for each message sent through the system.

 Auto responder – Reply to incoming messages automatically with a message of your own.  You can even set this up as a holiday responder to tell people e-mailing you that you are not available to reply.

 Web mail – All site users can access their e-mails from anywhere with an internet connection.  It will allow to both send and receive messages and allows you to set-up contact lists so that you don’t hove to remember addresses.

 SSH log-in – To access a secured unix command prompt to make changes to your filesystem.

 FTP – Standard ftp access to site folders as well as anonymous ftp access for make downloads or uploads available to any user.

 MySQL Database – Support for databases and access to manage it via a web based management tool – phpMyAdmin.

 Directory protection – Set-up username/password access to files within certain directories.
